This reminds me of a little story my Uja Laza told me when we were in Serbia last year.
He said that the Doctor in the selo was a man originally from Nigeria who came to Serbia to go to University and ended up staying, marrying a woman from a small selo in Vojvodina. Uja Laza said that they were once both at a Hungarian wedding in the village when The Doctor turned to Uja Laza and said…
“Looks like we’re the only two Serbs here”.
It’s a special 11 year old that even knows who Edith Piaff is…

My Uja Mirko carved his name on the fish stall in the Pijaca in Petrovo Selo over 45 years ago.
We photographed it in June of 2010.
