Mayor Hazel McCallion has told a Lorne Park woman that she must no longer contact either her councillor or City of Mississauga staff due to the “excessive” number of calls she’s placed over the years.
This is the neighbour that you don’t want living next door.
The Gladys Kravitz, up in everybody’s business by-law reporter. The person who reports every stupid little thing she doesn’t like.
I like the fact that she’s been told to stop calling.
It makes me feel good to know that there is a limit to the number of petty complaints Hazel’s office will tolerate and follow up on.
…and to Jean Overell, I suggest that she find a different hobby. Maybe she could volunteer. Do something productive for her community instead of being the tattle tale of the neighbourhood.

When Bullies Grow up…

They’re probably still bullies:

This High Park driveway dispute is totally ridiculous…and Mrs. Roslin sounds like a real asshole.

We’ve been pretty lucky with neighbours, but I think that’s about to change. Truth be told, it’s been brewing for over a year. We like to use our deck and backyard in the summer, and we entertain pretty regularly when the weather is nice.

We like music, and the company of good friends. Our neighbour has been increasingly difficult about this. There has been a lot of screen door slamming, complaining about our music, and bitching about using our outdoor fireplace.

Our house backs onto a ravine, and last summer she approached me with the idea of a petition to stop the cricket league from playing in the park on weekends because they’re “too noisy”. I told her that when we bought the house, we were aware that it backed onto a public park, and that the public would probably be using it pretty regularly. The league must pay to use the park, and that in turn helps pay for the immaculate upkeep of the greenery.

Plus…we kinda like hearing the cricketers out there.

The other day, The Mister was out on the driveway washing my car, and playing his music…she came out and yelled at him to turn it down.

The Mister went over to her, and told her; “Don’t shout at me. I’m not your husband and I’m not your child. I have never disrespected you, and I will not tolerate you disrespecting me. If you want me to turn down my music, come over to me and politely ask me to turn it down. I’m a reasonable man…but, I will not tolerate you shouting at me like I’m your child”.

She apparently was speechless…and shortly thereafter got into her car and drove off. We haven’t seen her since Sunday.

It’s been brewing for almost two years, and now, it’s on.
