Mexico has an image problem?
I’ll say!
You could do a lot worse? Only if you’re planning a vacation in Iraq or Afganistan.
The article lists a number of other vacation destinations that have higher crime rates…really?
Then why aren’t we reading about Canadian tourists getting killed, or beaten into a coma regularly while on vacation in those countries?
I honestly don’t understand why Canadians are still going.
I find it interesting that the statement on the left seems to insinuate that all women on this continent receive the same attention and “national outcry” when they are raped and murdered. The reality is that a large number of these crimes are not even reported because the victims are marginalized citizens.
But, it’s a nice sentiment to push forward that all women are of equal value on this continent, and we’re so much better at hiding our own shame than the Congo is.
Blazing Trails
Law professor, Orin S. Kerri, previously said, the state should be prosecuting people for what they did, not for “what the victim did in response.” No court date has been scheduled yet, but Ravi and Wei each face five years in prison.
The Rutgers students who allegedly posted Tyler Clemente’s video to the internet, which led him to commit suicide.
With technology the way it is, and the lack of empathy, or conscience of so many of this last generation…it’s time to blaze some trails on these so called “pranks”.
While Ravi and Wei deny, and claim all sorts of things about what happened…the question is: why secretly film anyone that way the first place? Never mind post it on the net.
Setting a precedent in law about this sort of breach of privacy needs to be done.
Seems like this is a good a time as any.
Russell Williams - WTF
At least he saved us a long and expensive trial.

Dammit

Kwame M. Kilpatrick, who resigned as mayor of Detroit and pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice in 2008, was sentenced Tuesday to as much as five years in prison for violating his probation. The sentence was harsher than expected, and elicited loud gasps in the courtroom.
This kind of thing is so depressing.
When will people realize that when they’re given positions of power and they are an immigrant or minority, that whether we like it or not….all others of that nationality or race ride with them in their success or failure or shame.
Shame on him for pissing away an opportunity to do right, and bringing shame on his family
