There's no pill for stupid
The Mister was trying to order pay per view boxing for tomorrow night. The operator at the cable company couldn’t seem to get it booked on the system. She was having trouble…know why she was having trouble? Because she kept trying to enter April 31st into the system. We’re doomed.

P.S....
One more thing about Sandra Bullock…I like the fact that when Sandra decided to adopt, she didn’t leave the country to do it. She adopted an American child who needed parents. Contrary to celebrity preferences, there are American children who need adopting just as badly as foreign ones do. …and rather than running out to foreign countries to fix their problems with abandoned...

Grace Jones vs Lady Gaga
When asked if she thought Gaga had copied her style, Jones responded: “”Well, you know, I’ve seen some things she’s worn that I’ve worn, and that does kind of piss me off,” and later admitted that Gaga had asked to play with her, “but I said no. I’d just prefer to work with someone who is more original and someone who is not copying me,...

Richard Renaldi - Touching Strangers
I’ve posted the photographs of Richard Renaldi a few years ago, but they’re worth revisiting. This series Touching Strangers is a series of photographs where the subjects do not know each other, but are asked to pose as though they are familiar and are touching. It’s a fascinating series. See more here.

My Theory
I’ve noticed that when a woman does something drastic with her hair, it’s a sign that some man has messed with her head. It’s like a new beginning…or something.

Was Simone de Beauvoir beautiful?
Francine Gray once described her look as “bleakly emancipated,” which sounds something like being ugly while wearing comfortable shoes. “De Beauvoir was remarkably unconcerned about her appearance and spent little time bothering with it,”

To sleep, perchance to dream, perchance to... →
psychotherapy: The last decade of research has clearly shown that sleep is one of the best aide memoires that we have. During this nightly time-out, our brain can rehearse information that it has picked up during the day and consolidate them into lasting memories. Wamsley’s new study supports that idea but it also shows that dreaming while you nap can strengthen our memories even further… ...

When Bullies Grow up...
They’re probably still bullies: This High Park driveway dispute is totally ridiculous…and Mrs. Roslin sounds like a real asshole. We’ve been pretty lucky with neighbours, but I think that’s about to change. Truth be told, it’s been brewing for over a year. We like to use our deck and backyard in the summer, and we entertain pretty regularly when the weather is...

65% disagree that men are funnier than women
…and then I realized that the only female comedians I find funny are all lesbians… What does that mean? I’ve met some pretty hilarious women in my life, but none of them have the time to go into comedy. Most of the straight female comedians I’ve seen, stick to the feminine hygiene, isn’t childrearing hilarious, menopause material…none of which I find even...

Materialistic People Liked Less by Peers Than... →
psychotherapy: People who pursue happiness through material possessions are liked less by their peers than people who pursue happiness through life experiences, according to a new study led by University of Colorado at Boulder psychology Professor Leaf Van Boven.
